Thomas MacDonald
President
Prior to the founding of Axis Healthcare Consulting, Tom was the Chief Operating Officer of a contract therapy company serving the skilled nursing industry. Tom led the efforts in becoming an early adopter of clinical protocols and programs to meet the goals and objectives of value based purchasing programs. Prior to healthcare, Tom spent 25 years in executive level positions in the investment and banking industry. Tom holds a masters in leadership and organizational change and has extensive experience in the delivery of leadership training, management development and team development.
Sheryl Marler
Vice President
Sheryl graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 1993. She began her career as an inpatient rehab therapist within a large hospital organization in Cincinnati, Ohio and later transitioned to the physical rehab outpatient program within this same organization. In 1998, Sheryl made the move to the skilled nursing care industry where she remained for 23 years progressing from a staff clinician, to facility rehab manager, to a regional therapy director, and ultimately to the VP of Operations of a contract therapy provider. This experience has allowed her to develop knowledge and insight not only in the daily operations of a therapy company but has allowed her the opportunity to work closely with key nursing facility operators and develop understanding in both clinical and financial aspects that impact the successful operation of a skilled nursing facility.
Brian MacDonald
Director
Brian graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010 and worked as a physical therapist within a large hospital organization. Brian then transitioned to working in a variety of skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. He was promoted within clinical and operational positions as a Director of Rehab at a facility level followed by being promoted to Corporate Director of Rehab. In this role, he oversaw the operations of many facility rehab departments. Brian is a graduate of the LeadingAge Ohio Leadership Academy.
